Jan Purkrábek
Head of LongRiver Lab
Jan Purkrábek is an executive bridging corporate finance, FinTech innovations, and open technologies, specifically blockchain. Within the LongRiver group, he leads LongRiver Labs, a platform dedicated to developing early-stage projects with potential synergies across the group. He actively participates in the interim management of selected companies, including StableLabs and PayCorp Issuing, a crypto-native card issuer.
He established his relationship with LongRiver through Fintech Hub Czechia, a practical acceleration program for FinTech within a consortium led by Mastercard and other partners, which he founded and managed for the Czech market in 2021.
At Mastercard, he served as the FinTech Lead for the Czech Republic and Slovakia. He identified innovation opportunities and was instrumental in launching the region's first BNPL client, the first "Digital First" payment card, and the first Mastercard crypto card.
Previously, he held the position of Stream Leader for a FinTech neobank at the Creative Dock venture studio. He was also present at the inception of the first crypto project testing decentralized governance models (Liberland), where he held an executive role in its early years.
In the corporate sector, he led the Cash & Risk/Treasury division at České Radiokomunikace (under the Mid Europa Partners fund), where he managed, among other things, the largest syndicated financing in Central and Eastern Europe, exceeding EUR 1 billion.
He began his career in the municipal sector, advancing from analyst and budgeter to Head of Business Operations, responsible for managing a portfolio of over 10,000 real estate units. This experience provided him with profound insights into the functioning of the public sector and defined his professional orientation towards efficiency and innovation. He holds a degree in Finance and SME Management from the Prague University of Economics and Business and earned an Executive MBA from the Quantic School of Business and Technology (US).
